This policy covers the ChocLite app for iPhone, iPad, Mac and Apple TV and the choclite.app website, both provided by Watfaq Technologies Pty Ltd (“we”). In short: ChocLite has no account, the app does not send us any of your data, and we never sell personal data. The website only handles the standard request data needed to serve it, described below.
What we collect
Nothing, through the app. ChocLite contains no analytics, advertising, crash-reporting or tracking code, and it does not send us your configurations, traffic, logs or usage.
What stays on your device
Your configurations, subscription links, rules, settings and logs are stored in ChocLite’s storage on your device. They are included in your device backups in the same way as other app data. Logs never leave your device unless you choose to share them.
Connections ChocLite makes
Besides the system services every app uses, ChocLite connects only to:
- The servers in your configuration, which carry the traffic you route through them.
- Subscription links you add, to download and refresh your configuration.
- Resources referenced by your configuration, such as rule sets and GeoIP databases, and the addresses it uses for latency tests.
- Tailscale’s coordination service, if you set up Tailscale in your configuration.
- Apple, to check your Dashboard purchase and, if you turn it on, to sync subscriptions through iCloud.
Third parties you choose
The providers of the servers and subscriptions you use can see the traffic and requests you send them. Their own privacy policies apply. ChocLite does not include any servers, and we have no relationship with providers you choose.
Apple TV sync
If you turn on “Sync subscriptions to Apple TV”, the names and links of your remote subscriptions are stored in your iCloud key-value storage so your Apple TV can read them. This uses your own iCloud account; we cannot access it. Turn the setting off to stop syncing.
Purchases
The Dashboard subscription is sold and billed by Apple. We do not receive your name, payment details or Apple Account. The app checks your purchase with Apple on your device.
Support
If you email us or write in the Telegram group, we see what you send, including any logs you attach, and use it only to help you. We delete support email once it is no longer needed.
This website
choclite.app is a static website served by Cloudflare. It sets no cookies and loads no third-party scripts. Cloudflare processes standard request data, such as IP addresses, to serve and protect the site, and shows us aggregate traffic statistics.
Children
ChocLite is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
